This area has been a crossroads since ancient times, and boasts advanced expressway networks. The Tomei Expressway allows access to Tokyo in four hours and the Meishin Expressway reaches Osaka in 2 hours. In addition, the Chuo Expressway leads to Tokyo via Nagano and Yamanashi prefectures, and the Tokai Hokuriku Expressway leads to the Hokuriku Region. Literally, all roads lead to Greater Nagoya, and more are soon to follow, with the No.2 Tomei and the Tokai Loop Expressways currently under construction.
